Defeats MVYO Meriema in extra time

Kohima, Oct. 17 (EMN): The 20th edition of NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy at Khuochiezhie (local ground), Kohima is set to conclude with only championship match left to play. Viswemi FC beat MVYO Meriema 2-0 in a closely-contested match in their semi-final match on Saturday.
Viswemi FC will now take on defending champion Centurion FC in the final match to be played on Saturday, October 19.
The second semi-final match between Viswemi FC and MVYO Meriema on Thursday attracted a huge crowd with fans expecting a close contest.
The teams failed to break the deadlock in the initial minutes despite several attempts from both to take the lead. However, Kelengol Toso opened the account for Viswemi FC in the 25th minute.

To the much delight of MVYO Meriema fans, Keneisezo Keditsu equalised by scoring a goal in the 73rd minute, making him the second highest goal scorer this edition.
The teams were locked at 1-1 till the final whistle. In the extra time (30 minutes), Vilu Theyo of Viswemi FC scored the winning goal in the 106th minute to take his team to the final of the tournament.
Toso of Viswemi FC was given a yellow card during the match.
Meanwhile, an exhibition match will be placed between Naga Students' Federation (NSF) XI and Angami Students' Union (ASU) XI at 2 pm on Friday, October.
