The NSF has extended support and solidarity with the demand of aggrieved Hindi teachers who are seeking their legitimate entitlements and urged the department of School Education and the government of Nagaland to release the pending salaries without further delay.
Stating that Hindi teachers were recruited against clear post creation in 2012, the NSF, in a release issued by its general secretary Esther Rhakho and secretary, education, Bangdi Chawang today, asked why the department cannot pay salary to 1379 teachers when other teachers and employees of School Education department are getting their pay.
The NSF also said it is learnt that 2012-2013 batch of Hindi teachers were appointed in the 5th ROP scale but they were made to sign the pension of 2010 with the assurance that 6th ROP will be implemented from April 2012. “For reasons best known to the department, till the month of April 2014, salaries to these teachers were paid on the basis of 5th but it is learnt that audit is being done on the basis of 6th ROP,” it said.
Also, stating that the entire demands of the aggrieved Hindi teachers may be not be fulfilled at one go, the NSF demanded that the department and the government should immediately release the pending salaries of those teachers who have been nurturing the younger generation without any means of livelihood for the past six months.

Clarification on deduction
The amount of Rs 2000 deducted from under graduate Hindi teachers and Rs 2500 from graduate Hindi teachers from the Hindi teachers of 2012-13 batch was never given to Directorate of School Education but was willingly contributed to All Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union for expenditure towards correspondence relating to the release of salary for 1379 Hindi teachers from the Ministry of Human Resource Development Delhi. The resolution to this effect was adopted on July 20, 2012 general meeting and August 2, 2013 district representatives and executive meeting, Kekhrieneilie Tsikhano, Convenor, Hindi teachers 2012-13 batch, said in a release today.
Even though as per the ACAUT statement the contributed amount was Rs 27 lakh, some of the districts did not contribute, the release said while also clarifying that it was purely freewill contribution and should not be an issue at all.
