KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 21

THE Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), in a representation to the Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner Nagaland on Saturday, has pointed out “incongruity and anomalies” in his department, and demanded immediate action in this regard. The NSF said the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts had forwarded 15 posts of Junior Divisional Accountant (JDA) to the office of the Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner Nagaland for approval on July 10, 2013 vide File No. DTA/SAS-1-12/2008/1014.
The representation, jointly signed by NSF vice president and chairman, NSF Public Greivances Cell, Joseph Ngouri and assistant general secretary Kesosul Christopher Ltu also pointed out the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) has not received any such requisition from the department concerned till date.
Asserting that every Naga aspiring candidate has to be given equal opportunity for open competition which it felt is the legitimate right of every citizen, the NSF urged upon the ‘responsible authority’ to uphold transparency and justice in the interest of the student community.
In this regard, the federation appealed to the state Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner to immediately endorse the above mentioned vacant posts to the NPSC. The representation also cautioned that in the event of failure to take immediate necessary action by the ‘responsible authority’, the federation will initiate its own course of action till justice is delivered.
The NSF also submitted copies of the representation to the Chief Minister, Parliamentary Secretary for Treasuries & Accounts, Chief Secretary and Principal Director of Treasuries & Accounts for necessary action.
