Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) have served a 30-day ultimatum to the government of Nagaland to fulfil the agreement signed between the School Education department, the Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (NSSATA), NSF and ENSF on June 12, 2018.

In a joint statement issued by the presidents of NSF and ENSF, the federations stated that the third point of the agreement called for rectification of the nature of appointment of SSA teachers (2010 and 2013 batches) and the Cabinet had subsequently decided in principle to bring the teachers of all 2010 and 2013 batches of SSA and RMSA into the mainstream of School Education cadre, but the same hasn’t been implemented till date despite repeated reminders.

“Therefore, the two federations after a consultative meeting is resolved to issue this ultimatum to mainstream SSA & RMSA teachers of 2010 & 2013 batches as per the decision taken in the Cabinet meeting of 3rd October 2018 and office memorandum issued on 5th October 2018 within a period of 30 (thirty) days from the official date of communication, failing which, the two federations shall be compelled to take up democratic measures against the inaction of the state government,” the statement read.

It went on to say that the move was initiated in the interest of the teaching fraternity and the student community.
