The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), while taking serious note of the alleged irregularity and discrepancies in the recently conducted NPSC Civil Service Main Examination, 2014, has strongly demanded that the Commission nullify the General Studies Paper – 1 (Multiple Choice Question) NPSC Civil Service Main Examination 2014 and initiate fresh examination for the said paper at the earliest possible time. It made the demand with a view to uphold the spirit of competitiveness and merit of the Commission.
In a letter to NPSC chairman today, NSF vice president Joseph Ngouri and secretary, education, Bangdi Chawang said it has been brought to the knowledge of NSF that the question paper set for the General Studies Paper – 1 (Multiple Choice Question) NPSC Civil Service Main Examination, 2014 has 119 questions copy-pasted from Tata McGraw 2013 edition out of the total 200 Multiple Choice Questions in the General Studies Paper 1.
“Since, 119 questions were copy pasted from Tata McGraw 2013 edition and out of which 50 questions were current affairs of 2013, these 50 questions cannot be considered as 2014 current affairs,” the NSF said.
Therefore, it said, to evaluate the capability of the candidates with the remaining 81 questions is illogical and highly objectionable. The Federation further said since NPSC is considered as the premier recruiting agency in the State, it is expected to persistently maintain high standard of the overall examination system.
Stating that this is not the first time that the company or the agency is making such errors and discrepancies in the question papers, the NSF strongly demanded the government cancel the license given to the company or agency for setting of the NPSC question papers and also cancellation of the evaluation immediately. It also demanded that the government engage another competent and experience company or agency for the same.
