Dimapur, Sep. 29 (EMN): Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the abduction and gruesome killing of Athuan Abonmai, former president of Zeliangrong Baudi, on September 22 in Pallang village under Tamenglong district in Manipur.

“While the entire region is collectively striving towards lasting peace and stability to bring about a life of dignity and the shared purpose of peaceful coexistence and respectful relationships, such inhumane and diabolical act negates the very aspiration of the general populace and ought to be outrightly condemned by all right-thinking citizens,” NSF president Kegwayhun Tep said.

NSF has appealed for peace and unity in all the Naga inhabited areas among various stakeholders, CSOs and individuals as the Naga public continue to press forward in strengthened cooperation in days to come while also sparing no efforts to uproot those elements and practices which are against the social and economic progress of the people.

“We must respect each other’s history and basic human rights, accept each other’s differences and value the common interests so as to establish a secure future where the entire region will thrive together in harmony,” he added.

Meanwhile, NSF has sympathised with the bereaved family members.
