The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the misappropriation Rs 12.79 crore funds meant for Inclusive Education for the Disabled at the Secondary Stage by officials School Education Department Nagaland. NSF president Tongpang Ozukum and secretary education Bangdi Chawang in a statement today while ‘sincerely’ appreciating the Vigilance Commission for detecting the misappropriation of Rs 12,79,50,000 by officials School Education Department and also allegedly by certain individuals which was meant for the disabled children under Inclusive Education for the Disabled at the Secondary Stage (IEDSS) for the period 2011-12 and 2012-13, has strongly condemned the Department of School Education (DoSE) particularly those officials involved in the Scam for committing such a deceitful act.
In this regard, the NSF has urged upon the SIT constituted under the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Police to rigorously investigate the scam and reveal the truth to the Naga people.
“What more treacherous act could be there than to snatch away the livelihood and future of ‘disabled children’, they queried. “If this scam is not unearthed then the entire government functionaries will be more encouraged and determined to play with the career of innocent students and continue to mislead and deceive the ignorant public,” they added.
Therefore, the NSF said that SIT should, without fear or favour investigate the scam and let the general public know the truth. The entire students’ community is behind the SIT and willing to extent every possible help and support if needed by the SIT, they asserted.
The NSF then appealed to all the general public, particularly the its units to extend the fullest cooperation to SIT in their respective districts and at the same time cautioned that no individual, group, organization, political party or politician should interfere and hamper the process of investigation in any manner.
