EMN Dimapur, February 20 Piqued by the non-committal attitude of the state government towards addressing their grievances, the associations of education officers and teachers are all set to resume their 3 month-old suspended ‘Total cease work’ from March 2 till such time the government issued official notification on their demands. The three associations of the department- Nagaland School Education Administrative Officers Association (NSEAOA), Nagaland Secondary School Field Officers Forum (NSSFOF) and All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) said they are compelled to resume “Total cease work from 2nd March 2015 in view of Government’s failure to redress the genuine grievances of associations as assured several times earlier.” A joint statement issued by ANSTA President Ponchulo Wanth, Convenor Mezhu-U Hozoyeh and Vice President Ekonthung Lotha recalled that the three associations on 19-11-14 had submitted an ultimatum to government for a period of 7 days following the repeated ‘bluffing’ of three associations by government in the fulfilment of their demands on various occasions. It however said, with intervention of Chief Minister (who called upon the constituent associations on 20-11-14) and assurance that he would address the demands at the earliest possible time in consultation with key persons of the department, the proposed total cease work to be started from 25/11/14 was called off temporarily. ANSTA regretted that even after waiting ‘patiently’ for nearly 3 months, nothing concrete has been done by the government till today. The associations felt cheated by government and in protest against its unresponsive attitude towards the genuine cause of associations, the concerned associations decided to resume their suspended total cease work from March 2 till such time government issued official notifications on the demands. Meanwhile, in view of proposed agitation programme, the three associations are all set to have a discussion on February 26 at 11 a.m. at conference hall of CANSSEA Office for which all the executive members of three Associations, DEOs, SDEOs, Asstt. Directors, Dy. Directors, HMs, AHMs, JEOs have been requested to attend to get themselves updated with the issues under active considerations by the three associations.
