DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has restored the road from Y Anner village till Muleangkiur village before reaching Chassir village.

An update from NSDMA stated that the particular stretch of road between Chassir and Y Anner village under Shamator district was completely blocked by landslides/ mudslides, while a portion of the road was also completely washed away by heavy rainfall.

It mentioned that four presiding officers who were posted at Sotokur GHS were stuck between Chassir and Y Anner village on their way back by Tata Sumo to Sotokur village after performing election duty. It added that the Tata Sumo on which they were travelling in was trapped by falling debris of landslide/ mudslide. Left with no options, they walked on foot from the incident site to reach the next village, it stated.

NSDMA stated that after clearing for several days, the road was finally opened till Muleangkiur village before reaching Chassir village. It added that the DDMA Shamator, in collaboration with PWD (NH) (R&B), has been working tirelessly to restore motorable roads till date.
