NSDMA to hold annual NEPEx on October 24

DIMAPUR — To test the capability of the state in responds to any disaster, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) under Home department has decided to organise an annual event of Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx).

A DIPR report informed that the 7th edition of NEPEx 2024 would be organised on October 24 simulating an earthquake scenario.

As a precursor to the NEPEx, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with NSDMA, would organise an orientation and coordination meeting on October 9 with the advisor, officials of NSDMA, Home department and all the DDMA in a virtual mode.

It informed that the link to attend the programme would be sent in due course of time before commencement of the programme.

The AHoD/ HoD concerned are asked to attend the video conference along with nodal officers of their departments/ directorates, while the DDMA have been requested to attend the same along with the DDMA members.

It stated that a table top exercise would be conducted on October 22 at 10 am for all the DDMA chairmen, concerned officers of line department (AHoD/ HoD) and other stakeholders such as NDRF, SDRF, paramilitary and AG members.

It would be followed with a mock exercise on October 24 in all the districts.

DDMA would submit the report to NSDMA on October 30.
