NSDMA lauds agencies

Dimapur, Aug. 8 (EMN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home department has lauded the effort of agencies in reaching out to the affected districts.

The NSDMA appreciated the Indian Air Force (IAF), Ministry of Defence, director Airport Authority of India (AAI), Dimapur, District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) and all the agencies for putting their best to contain the crisis.

Meanwhile, the disaster management authority has informed that in collaboration with the IAF, Ministry of Defence and AAI, Dimapur, the NSDMA together with Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) department accomplished total 19 sorties out of which, 13 sorties were successful in seven locations across the state. The essential commodities as organised by the department of F&CS totalling 14,044 kilos has been supplied to the affected districts.

On Aug. 8, while dropping essential commodities in Seyochung sub-division and Kiphire HQ, it was informed that the IAF choppers also evacuated 14 patients, attendants and Assam Rifles personnel from Kiphire HQ and Seyochung sub division.

Depending on the situation the emergency operations shall continue, the NSDMA informed.
