Dimapur, Aug. 2 (EMN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has predicted heavy rainfall in many parts of Nagaland from August 8 to the 11th.
Citing reports from the India Meteorological Department, the NSDMA issued a press release on Friday announcing that on those four days, the southern districts of Nagaland would see more monsoon rain than the northern districts.
Government agencies responsible for roads and other infrastructure, and the public have been advised to take precautionary measures during this period.
It also informed that rainfall activity on August 3 in the state would be moderate to heavy. From August 4, the rainfall would be light to moderate; however, cloudy to overcast sky conditions will remain across the state, it stated.
Between August 4 and the 7th, the intensity of rain would decrease as a depression is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal, which will be responsible for pulling moisture, it informed.
“After August 7, the atmospheric system will move inland and away from the region and the rains will once again pick up the pace over the state of Nagaland,” according to the NSDMA.
