NSCW to observe elimination of violence against women

Dimapur, November 22: In accordance with the mandate of UN declaration of November 25 as “International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women” and on December 10 as “International Human Rights Day,” the intervening 16 days have been observed for the past 25th years as ‘Fortnight’s Observation of Elimination of Violence against Women’ at both local and international levels to create awareness and promote advocacy for the cause. Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW), like in the past years, has announced to organise the launching programme of the fortnight at De Oriental Hotel, High School Road, Upper Bayavu Hill, Kohima, at 10 a.m. on November 24. Sano Vamuzo, former Chairperson of NSCW, will be the chief guest of the launching programme. Invitees including all Kohima unit tribal women hohos, NMA, women leaders from churches and different political parties from women wing are expected to participate in the function.
