DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW), in collaboration with Life Sports Nagaland and department of Youth Resource and Sports, supported by National Commission for Women (NCW), New Delhi, conducted a seminar on women in sports at Indira Gandhi Sports Academy, Kohima, on Saturday.
An update from NSCW stated that Nyuvitho Nyuthe, assistant director of Youth Resource and Sports, has highlighted on sports policy and opportunities for women in sports.
It added that a ‘Sports girl’s story” was shared by Khrolou T Mero, alumnus of IG Sports Academy, while Apila Sangtam, legal consultant of Nagaland State Commission for Women, briefed the audience on “Awareness on ethics and harassment in sports.”
A press release issued by NSCW stated that Dr. Neeta Kumari, head coach (boxing) of Khelo India Centre of Excellence, Kohima, has highlighted on the scope of rural sportsperson at national and international level.
The importance of grassroots sports and education was delivered by Cüneyi Lohe, coordinator of Life Sports Nagaland.
The participants of the seminar included students from Indira Gandhi Sports Academy, Kohima, coaches and warden of the hostel.
