Be prepared for any eventualities: Muivah

Staff Reporter
DIMAPUR, MARCH 21

WHILE exuding confidence that solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political problem will come sooner or later, Ato Kilonser (Prime Minister) of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (NSCN/GPRN), Th. Muivah has urged the Nagas not to be disheartened but stand their ground to face any eventualities.‘The future belongs to those who are prepared to face any eventualities. Solution will come to those who are prepared,” Muivah said this while highlighting on the progress of the peace process on the occasion of 35th Republic Day celebration this morning at the Council Headquarter, Hebron. Stating that talks will continue after the Lok Sabha poll, Muivah has urged the Nagas not to be disheartened but stand their ground and be prepared to face any eventualities, adding solution will come sooner or later.
Acknowledging that Nagas are ‘insignificant in the face of our opponent’ in terms of manpower and weaponry, Muivah said solution to the problem has to be worked out by understanding each others’ history.
On the occasion, Muivah has also directed his speech on the ‘self righteous’ attitude of the Nagas for the delay in finding political solution to the Indo-Naga problem as he said, ‘Nagas too need to blame ourselves.’
“The sins of the NSCN is the problem. Self righteousness is what God hate most,” Muivah confided. Maintaining that it is not the Government of India alone which is responsible for the delay towards finding solution to the Indo-Naga problem, Muivah said: “We are held up because of our sins.”
While reposing his faith in God for deliverance from political bondage, Muivah has urged the Nagas to realize our mistakes and repent. He said it is not the Government of India but God who will bring solution for the Nagas. He, therefore, cautioned that unless we repent, we shall all perish.
“When God is happy with the NSCN, then there will be an honourable solution. If God be on our side, who can be against us”? Muivah asserted.
While committing to the Naga cause, Muivah reaffirmed that NSCN will not betray the people. He further added that Nagas are not lost people.
On the occasion, Yaruiwo (President) of NSCN/GPRN, Isak Chishi Swu reiterated that NSCN will always uphold the national principle above all other things for the reason that ‘our national future lies in our national principle.’ While stating that thousand patriots have died as martyrs in defending the national principle, Isak Chishi said thousands of NSCN cadres are fully prepared to defend the same even in the days to come.
Isak Chish has placed God at the centre in building Nagalim. He said God, land and people are inseparably inter-related and inter-dependent. He also said ‘Nagalim for Christ’ is the covenant of God with the Nagas adding that Nagalim is going to be a channel of world evangelization in this last part of the century.
Isak Chishi also said NSCN is deeply committed to seeking political solution to the long standing Indo-Naga problem. Stating that NSCN is engaging in dialogue with the Government of India for arriving at an honourable solution based on two entities – unique history and situation of the Nagas – Isak Chishi said foundations for the solution have been laid.
Isak Chishi has also reiterated the declared stand of the NSCN to ‘forgive and reconcile with our brothers in different factional camps in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.’ He has however stated that it would be a futile exercise to unite with those people if they come with enemies’ agenda. He said playing trick on the reconciliation and unity move will be a serious political crime.
Asserting that reconciliation is a political necessity, Isak Chishi has called upon all Nagas to unit to build a land of peace and prosperity and leave a bright future for the coming generations.

Speech of Gen (Rtd) Khole Konyak

ON this auspicious day the 34th Republic Day Anniversary I wish to convey my greetings to every sons and daughters of Naga soil. I also thank god for sustaining us to this day despite every effort of our adversaries to sabotage and destroy our desire to live as free people.
Fellow Nagas, I candidly recall the days where educated Nagas were few, yet today we are fortunate to have enough educated and erudite Nagas who can compete with the rest of the world. The GPRN/NSCN has set objectives to every Naga and the outside world that we shall stand firm to our commitment of unity and reconciliation, for I believe that solution to the Naga political problem can never be achieved until we come together and contribute our share in the struggle, today’s political solution or any solution will depend on every individual’s commitment and determination. We should all realize that other people will not come to solve our problem. Therefore I urge every Nagas to realize the futility of confining our self within the self erected penal complex and come out in the open and express your opinion without any reservation.
On this day I also salute all the brave comrades who have valiantly sacrificed their precious life defending our cause, their names shall be remembered and recorded in the pages of Naga history. I also urge all GPRN/NSCN workers to be vigilant against the adversaries both within and without who spend sleepless nights to destroy our unity and integrity, at this crucial moment of the Naga history where groups and gangs of mercenaries have mushroomed in the guise of Naga nationalism, we should not falter but remain upright and committed to the cause and the goal. The collective leaders will not hesitate to initiate punitive action upon any rank and file found tarnishing the image of the GPRN/NSCN and defying the party discipline and the constitution.
At this stage of my life I am glad to be alive to see the Nagas moving forward in every field, yet it is also my desire to see all Nagas come together to decide our common future for the upcoming generation. As we celebrate this republic day let us remember the past unity and glory and look beyond the horizon.
