DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 5

THE NSCN/GPRN (K) today questioned the NSCN (Kitovi-Khole) regarding the reconciliation process and its commitment to the people.
Terming today’s attack as an act of cowardice which endangered civilian lives on the one hand and on the other hand talked of reconciliation “holds no water” said a press communiqué from secretary of the outfit’s MIP, Sangso Mongzar Naga. The NSCN questioned Khole’s stand as he endangered his cadres while seeking reconciliation. The attack on the life of an NSCN(K) official near Naga Hospital junction was a desperate move to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere and which the people do not want at this juncture, the communiqué said.
The Khole boys lead by Lt. Atoka who recently defected to Khole group a month ago fired with automatic weapons (AKs).
The NSCN wanted to know from the concerned NGOs and civil societies the measures they will adopt for NSCN cadres to avoid civilian casualties.
While stating that the NSCN would be restrained, the release simultaneously states that as the outfit replies befittingly to the ‘unprovoked attempts and firings upon its cadres and officials it appeals to the public to bear with the NSCN till these criminals are chased out from the state capital Kohima’.
