NSCN/GPRN (YA) warns government departments and businesses against imposters demanding taxes.
DIMAPUR — The Yung Aung-led NSCN/GPRN has cautioned government departments and business establishments in Kohima and Dimapur districts against imposters allegedly engaging in illegal extortion and fraudulent tax collection in the name of the organisation.
According to a press statement issued by the group's Ministry of Information and Publicity, the organisation identified and located one of the fraudsters as Kakto Chopy, who has been operating under the alias HK Sema.
The statement claimed that despite previous warnings, Chopy remained active and had been collecting huge sums of money from government departments in Kohima while claiming to represent the NSCN/GPRN. Issuing a final warning to Chopy to stop his illegal operations immediately or face capital punishment, the group stated that the warning also extends to others engaged in similar activities.

All concerned departments and business establishments have been strongly advised to verify credentials and ensure financial transactions are made only to authorised persons, adding that engaging with unauthorised agents will be done at their own risk.
