DIMAPUR — NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) has expressed concerns over the ‘sudden spike’ in extortion and kidnapping cases in Tirap, Changlang, and Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh and has demanded that Katwang Wangham (Angh) and Gangtei Gangsa be released unharmed at the earliest.
In a note issued by its office of the secretary, MIP, the group stated that though people talk of sovereignty and work for self-development, they have divided themselves so much that the issue of sovereignty has taken a back seat.
It stated that those involved in the kidnapping of Wangham and Gangsa committed a crime against humanity and that the days of kidnapping and killing for ransom are over.
It added that by any chance, even if there was a mistake, there were plenty of ways to resolve the issue through peaceful means instead of committing crime, and prayed that the two persons be released unconditionally and unharmed at the earliest.
