Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): The NSCN (R) has denied any involvement in the recent formation of Dimasa National Liberation Tribal Force (DNLTF) in Assam’s Karbi-Anglong district.
The NSCN (R), in a press release, stated that it was “deeply pained” to know through social media and other platform on the alleged involvement of NSCN (R) in the formation of DNLTF.
“We want to make our position very clear to all concern that, the NSCN (R) under the leadership of Y Wangtin Naga and P Tikhak is in no way involved in the formation of DNLTF in Assam’s Karbi Anglong,” it stated.
The NSCN (R) assured that, as a responsible organisation, it believed in peaceful solution to the political problems through negotiation. NSCN (R) also stated that it believed in peace, progress and prosperity of the whole North-East India and Nagaland, and that violence would only beget violence and has no space in the 21st century.
“Therefore, the question of NSCN (R) encouraging any armed group within or outside Naga areas doesn’t arise. Nevertheless, as alleged by the Assam police, if some of our workers in their own capacity has knowingly or un-knowingly encourage any such activities than a very appropriate punitive action will be taken against such erring cadres,” it stated .
Further, it appreciated the prompt action of the security forces and the Assam police in neutralising the newly formed DNLTF.
“This prompt action will serve as a deterrent against such elements and help in ushering an era of peace and prosperity for all,” it added.
