NSCN (R) affirms on Naga political solution

Dimapur, May 1 (EMN): NSCN (R) has resolved to uphold and honour the ‘Naga issue and the ongoing Naga peace process’ on topmost priorities and to strengthen the ‘brotherhood, fraternity and solidarity’ among the Nagas.

The resolution to this effect was taken during its annual joint council meeting held at its headquarters on April 28 and 29 under the chairmanship of its speaker Ihese Aye in the presence of representatives from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland.

A NSCN (R)’s statement through its MIP stated that the house has reaffirmed and reiterated full support to the leadership of its president, Y Wangtin Naga, vice president Akato Chophi and ato kilonser/ general secretary P Tikhak. Besides, the house has acknowledged the leadership of NNPG WC convenor N Kitovi Zhimomi and co-convenors namely Zophra Vero, Isak Sumi, Hozheto Chophi, Toshi Walling and Kimiukham Yimchunger.

NSCN (R) has also resolved to revoke its earlier ‘expulsion orders’ basing on the ‘presidential amnesty and pardon’ by keeping in mind the Naga issue at its zenith.

It has also resolved to retract some of its earlier statements issued and published from any quarters that might have unintentionally and inadvertently created some ‘pandemonium, perplexity, fuss and confusions’ in order to pave a way for the ‘Naga peace talks’ towards reaching its logical conclusion that is acceptable and honourable to all.

Affirming on the importance of Nagas unity and integrity, NSCN (R) also resolved to collectively guard against any force that might try to sow seeds of division from both within and outside the party. In this regard, all NSCN (R) members are reminded to uphold its principles and ethics and to refrain from creating any kinds of miasma and unwholesome atmospheres or circumstances.

NSCN (R) has also appealed to all the well-wishers, patrons, public and friends to continue upholding them in prayers and to strengthen the NSCN and the Naga issue.

Meanwhile, NSCN (R) also appreciated the contributions of the NTC, CNTC, NGBF and other NGOs/ CSOs for working selflessly and tirelessly to bring all the Naga people together for an amicable solution with the GOI.

The advisors to the collective leadership (ACL) including Omnyei Konyak, O Chingmak Chang, Viniho Kiho, Maj. (Retd.) Joseph Anal, N Panmei, and Lt. Gen. (Retd) Nyemlang Konyak were administered the oath of allegiance and office of secrecy by the president. The newly inducted kilonsers, deputy kilonsers and tatars numbering around 58 were administered oath by the speaker.
