NSCN (R) accuses NSCN (IM) of changing course of Naga political movement
Dimapur, July 18 (EMN): The NSCN/GPRN-Reformation (NSCN-R) has accused the NSCN (IM) of changing the course of the Naga political movement and alleged that the group has “lost the faith and trust of majority of the Naga people” because of its arrogance.
In a press release issued on Monday, the group claimed that “the Nagas who had for so many years dreamt of a separate nation involving thousands of sacrifices stand in disunity today, mostly because of the high-handedness of the NSCN (IM)”.
It went on to ask why there is so much opposition against the group if their claims are true and if “they had been seriously working for the greater cause of the Naga people”.
The NSCN (R) alleged that the Tirap-Changlang-Longding (TCL) region had faced violence, torture and extortion from “our own so called Naga Army” in the past and “the Naga political issue has been hijacked to suit someone’s agenda”.
“Therefore, both the Wancho and Pangmi region as claimed by NSCN (IM) are appealed to introspect and see for themselves if the NSCN (IM) had done at least, one good thing in so many years for TCL, that deserve applause and support,” read the press release, adding: “You must know how our people had been socially, economically, politically exploited all these years.”
It went on to urge the people of TCL region not to ‘fall prey to elements who are upping the ante to destroy the very fabric of our society’.
