[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ational Socialist Council of Nagaland, Konyak Region condemned two contractors Mr. Velelei and Mr. Potolu who mis-used the amount of Rs. 22,0000000 (twenty two crore rupees) only on Mon-Tizit road constructed under DUDA. These two contractors claimed to have constructed more than 15 (fifteen) numbers of Culverts and Retaining walls in addition to widening of road. Whereas, there is no single Culvert or Retaining wall constructed in entire road covering 441/2 Km. These two contractors only filled the pot-holes with available mud/earth, probably with the amount of few lacs. The NSCN/Konyak Region have not tax single penny from these two contractors. It only supports them to execute the work satisfactorily. After filling up of pot-holes, the contractors lifted all their machineries except only 4-5 vehicles left at one place in L/Sheanghah.
The action of NSCN Konyak Region was just reaction on their cheating and mis-used of more than Rs. 20 crores without works. The NSCN Konyak Region stopped 3 (three) Nos. of vehicles ready to lift up for Kohima as a sign of dissatisfaction over their corruption and calling the two contractors for negotiation aim at proper use of funds mean for the said road. Therefore the NSCN –Konyak Region has no intention to take or seize the vehicles belongs to the contractors. On the advice of the Konyak Union, the NSCN/Konyak Region has decided to return the seized vehicles directly to the contractors.
Hence, the contractors must contact K.U and claim the seized vehicles in the presence of NSCN/Konyak Region. Before accusing Konyak Region NSCN/GPRN, all agencies be it Central or State may verify the road condition for justification. The NSCN/Konyak Region never claim for any kind of taxes but it only wants good work as its action was expression of publics anguish on these two said contractors
