NSCN-K (Khango) cadres arrested for robbing student in Dimapur

DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police has apprehended three cadres of NSCN-K (Khango) in connection with the assault and robbery of a B.Com second-year student from Dimapur Government College.

According to a police update, on October 10, a written FIR was received at Sub Urban Police Station from the student, stating that in the early hours of October 10 at approximately 3:50 am, while he was on his way to participate in a marathon event, he was waylaid in the Thakur Bari area by three unknown miscreants.

Subsequently, the assailants assaulted him and robbed him of his phone and a bag containing cash and personal items before fleeing in a vehicle.

Upon receiving the FIR, a case was registered under the relevant sections of the law.

During the investigation, conducted through electronic surveillance and human intelligence, suspects were identified and placed under surveillance.

On October 22, after confirming with sources, an operation was conducted by the Sub Urban Police Station team, during which three individuals, all affiliated with the NSCN-K (Khango) faction, were apprehended from various locations in and around Dimapur city.

The vehicle used in the commission of the crime and the mobile phone snatched from the victim were recovered. The three arrested individuals were duly identified by the victim.

The arrested individuals are Phushito Yeptho (52 years), SS Leacy NSCN-K (Khango); Akheto Shohe (48 years), SS Leacy NSCN-K (Khango); and Vikiho Aye (37 years), SS Leacy NSCN-K (Khango). They are currently in police custody.
