[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n continuation of its commitment to curb anti-social elements and restrain the flow of liquor, the NSCN-IM Sumi region on Sunday destroyed a considerable quantity of liquor at IB, near Litsami village in presence of the STH, student leaders, GBs and the general public.The operation was led by Leacy-cum-caretaker CAO, NSCN-IM, Sumi region Huto N Chishi and town commander Tokivi under the directive and supervision of Heshito Sema CAO, Sumi Region, NSCN-IM
According to the NSCN-IM the seized liquor were caught from NST bus, passenger Sumo and some private vehicles, plying via Emlo-To road. It also said that the illegal items destroyed were detained on different occasions, which they have been confiscating so in recent time.
On the occasion Huto N Chishi said the NSCN-IM will not tolerate anything which shatters the Naga society and put blame on alcohol for family break up and of people acting inhumane.
Meanwhile, Emlo-To Students’ Union, STH, public leaders and the public has thanked the NSCN-IM for taking this initiative and said that such positive steps will be anticipated even in the coming days from the national workers.
In a separate release the Litsami Students’ Union has applauded the NSCN-IM for their role in promising a safe and sound society, and said that, within its jurisdiction, it will co-operate with the national workers to bring an end to this social evil.
