NSCN (IM) steering committee member Horam passes away
Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): NSCN (IM)’s former kilonser of ministry of information and publicity and executive member of the steering committee, Vareingam Horam, passed away at Zion Hospital in Dimapur on October 13 after a prolonged illness.
Horam hailed from Tusom village under Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR). He joined the Naga national service in the year 1989.
In a condolence message, NSCN/GPRN Yaruiwo Q Tuccu has described Horam as a sincere, dedicated and dynamic national worker who have shouldered different responsibilities in his capacity up to the satisfaction of all. Tuccu lamented that his death was not only a loss to the family members but also a great loss to the Nagas in general adding the vacuum created by his demise would be difficult to fill. He, however, stated that his sacrificial service rendered to the Naga nation would always be remembered and cherished.
He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.
In a separate statement, the Steering Secretariat of the NSCN (IM) has described Horam as a stalwart national worker who never failed in his assigned duties.
Convenor of the steering committee Ashiho Asoumai described him as a man of principle who was unyielding in his commitment to the Naga people and for the cause of freedom. Asoumai added that his stirring leadership would be remembered for all time to come and history of Naga political movement would give him the place he deserved.
He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, the NSCN (IM)’s ministry of information and publicity (MIP) lamented that it has lost a great, charming and courageous leader, a role model with a big hearted commitment and dedication for the Naga nation in the demise of Horam.
Besides being an upright leader, it stated that he was noted for discharging his national duties with remarkable zeal and fidelity. It added that his legacy would continue through his deeds and sacrifices and stand as an example to all to persist in their pursuit tirelessly.
It also described him as a true son of the soil and a dynamic leader, who was loved and admired by many for his affable personality and insatiable passion for the Naga political movement. It added that his name would be remembered for all times to come for his sacrifices and noble service for the Naga nation.
It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant peaceful rest to the departed soul.
In another statement, NSCN (IM) Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah has condoled the demise of its kilonser, W Kemping, from Makui village under Makuilongdi Zeliangrong region, who passed away on October 12 and kilonser Atovi Swu from Ghathashi village under Sumi region, who passed away on October 11 at Faith Hospital in Dimapur after prolonged illness.
Muivah has lauded their commitment and conviction towards the Naga national cause and for executing their assigned responsibilities to the satisfaction of all.
He lamented that a vacuum has been created in his deaths, which none could ever fill. He further conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed to the Almighty God to grant peace to the departed souls.
RNPC, NMA condole Horam’s demise
Rengma Naga People’s Council (RNPC), while mourning the demise of V Horam, described him as an eloquent, inspirational figure and a tall leader who had rendered his service to the Naga people with great diligence in different capacities within the NSCN (IM) setup.
RNPC general secretary, Aga Rengma, lamented that the Naga nation has lost a precious son of the soil leaving a void which would be hard to fill up. He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant peace to the departed soul.
The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) also described Horam as a staunch and an articulate Naga national leader, who has been advocating for peace.
It lamented that his passing away at this crucial juncture of Naga peace process was irreparable. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant them comfort and strength.
