NSCN (IM), Mishra hold formal talk on Naga political issue
DIMAPUR — An eight-member delegation of the NSCN (IM) led by its General Secretary Th. Muivah had a meeting with the Government of India’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks, AK Mishra in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The NSCN (IM) delegation had arrived in the national capital on August 18 to resume talks on the protracted Naga political issue.
A source told Eastern Mirror that the talk on Wednesday was a “formal meeting and on the same issue (Naga political issue)”, unlike Monday’s meeting which was an informal one, with Mishra meeting Muivah to check on his health.
However, the source didn’t provide the details of the talk on Wednesday or its outcome.
‘Whatever discussion that takes place between the NSCN (IM) talk team and the GoI will remain with them. So, the outcome of the meeting cannot be ascertained unless we are informed or updated,’ another source said.
However, the source said that the delegation of the group is likely to be in New Delhi this week, while expressing hope of a progress in the talk.
The team in Delhi didn’t take the calls when this newspaper contacted.
