Dimapur, Nov. 26 (EMN): The Lotha region of the NSCN (IM) has clarified that it had not authorised any of its members to speak against any Lotha individuals or attend a meeting of the Dimapur Lotha Hoho that was held on October 28.
The region was responding to concerns expressed by a senior and respected intellectual claiming that some Lotha ‘national workers’ for expressing intention to commit violence against some Lotha intellectuals after settlement of the Indo-Naga political negotiations.
In a clarification, ‘kilonser’ and caretaker CAO of the NSCN (IM) Lotha region, Mozamo Ngullie stated that any statement by individuals which contradicts the principles and rules of the NSCN is entirely their personal view, and uncalled for. He added that utterance by any member in the said meeting was purely on their personal capacity and did not convey the policy and decisions of the NSCN/GPRN.
He stated that the concerns that were expressed on October 30 during the Lotha public general meeting at Wokha may have been exaggerated and distorted as the NSCN is giving its best efforts to upkeep the prevailing peace and unity among the Lotha people.
He added that the NSCN has high esteem and expectations from the advanced Lotha tribe to come forward with more positive contribution in support of the closing Indo-Naga political settlement process. He appealed to the people in general to ignore those elements that might be detrimental to the unity of the Lotha people and the Naga people in general by exercising maximum tolerance.
It urged to take the issue as an opportunity to nurture greater understanding and foster stronger unity amongst all sections of the people for the good and larger benefits of the Lotha people.
