Dimapur, Jan. 28: NSCN (IM) has seriously taken note on the reign of terror unleashed in Manipur by forces of communal government led by lbobi Singh criminalising every innocent Naga people without any rhyme and reason.

The latest victim according to NSCN (IM) was Santhuanang Pamei, son of Miuhemang Pamei of Namkaolong (Keikao) village, presently residing at Model village, Tamenglong town, and working as PTS (Part Time Sweeper) at UBI Bank, Tamenglong Bazaar Branch office. He was reportedly arrested on January 22 by the Imphal West police commandos falsely accusing him as an active member of NSCN monitoring movement of security forces along NH-37 to strike.

NSCN (IM) through its MIP said Santhuanang is neither a member of the NSCN nor working for or involved in any anti-social activities. It testified him as an innocent civilian working in a bank, who does not deserves to be accused and tortured inhumanly.

MIP release said it is not the first instance where many innocent Naga people and civil organisations were wrongly implicated as members or working for the NSCN and put behind the bar.

NSCN strongly condemned such irresponsible act of the communal government and its agencies whose acts vitiate the peaceful equilibrium of the society. It demanded that Santhuanang be immediately released unconditionally and compensate for the physical and psychological pressure he had gone through for no fault of his own.
