DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) claimed that forces against the resolution of the Naga political issue are exploiting the changing media landscape and using social media platforms to stoke the fire of fear and anxiety and divide the Nagas.

Denouncing an article titled ‘Naga politics in Manipur decoded,’ purportedly written under a fictitious name ‘Abraham Naga,’ the NSCN (IM), in a press statement, said that the article was “manufactured with malicious intention knowing that crazy write up with lies and conspiracies spread more rapidly than facts through social media.”

It went on to state that the article was manufactured in a “factory of lies and fabrications,” which allegedly aims to manipulate Naga public opinion against the NSCN, particularly targeting Longvibu of the Naga Army, by spreading pessimism and distrust and bringing about confusion and polarisation to “damage the sanctity of God’s covenant with the Naga people.”

Condemning the article, the NSCN said that “forces/agencies against Naga political solution have taken undue advantage of the changing media landscape, using the social media platforms to stoke the fire of fear and anxiety and divide the Nagas against itself.”

Stating that no NSCN leaders would stoop to the level alleged in the fabricated article, it cautioned that the NSCN would not tolerate such defamatory viral content created under fictitious names, but would uncover the true identities behind such deceptive writings.

“The Naga political issue is something sacrosanct and the way to defend it is to be proactive with God fearing approach,” it concluded.
