NSCN (IM) cautions against gambling

Dimapur, Dec. 8 (EMN): Upon receipt of complaints from the church leaders, civil society organisations and various NGOs, NSCN (IM) central administrative officer (CAO) of Union Territory (UT), keeping in mind that Nagalim being a Christian state, appealed all to refrain from indulging in gambling and selling liquors at night carnival in and around Dimapur as such activities are unchristian.
In this regard, CAO has appealed for cooperation from the public to maintain peace and tranquillity.
NSCN (IM) also informed that the 2019 government calendar has been released. It appealed all to consider as a national souvenir and extend cooperation. NSCN (IM) also stated that it would not impose force on anybody to buy it. The rate of the calendar has been fixed at INR 150. In a separate statement, NSCN (IM) has mourned the untimely demise of its Mhasekho (Akho) Chuzho from Chakhesang region on December 7 in Dimapur following brief illness.

It stated that Mhasekho, a resident of Diezephe village in Dimapur, joined the national service on May 19, 2007, as PRO, emissary to the collective leadership. It described him as a devoted national worker and a man of integrity. He left behind his wife and four children.
NSCN (IM) also mourns the untimely demise of Captain AS Vareishang from Ramva village (WTR), army no. OP-24101 of Operation Blue Sky, Naga Army on

December 6. He met martyrdom in action against the Indian army personnel from the 6th Punjab Regiment in between Longkai and Moktua villages in Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh.
The Longvibu and the entire Naga Army have paid homage to the departed soul. In recognition of the service rendered towards the Naga nation and as a mark of tribute to the departed comrade in arms, he has been posthumously bestowed the rank of Major.

Stating that both of them have served the nation whole-heartedly until their demise, it said their names would be recorded and their sacrifices for the Naga cause would ever be honoured. It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved families.
