Dimapur, May 15 (EMN): Upon receiving credible intelligence inputs, personnel of NSCN (IM) from UT-I Guard Command swung into action on May 14 and apprehended four non-Nagas, who had allegedly murdered one Munaf Ali (70) and were on the run from law enforcement agencies.
The arrested persons were identified as Saira Khatun (60), wife of Munaf Ali; Sophia Begum (31), daughter of Munaf Ali; Narjul Islam (27), son of Munaf Ali; and Saidul Islam (21), son of Munaf Ali.
Secretary of UT-I, Obeto Tucco, stated that during preliminary investigation, the arrested persons have admitted to having murdered the deceased over a family altercation and subsequently entered Nagaland. He added that as they were non-indigenous and residents of Assam, the office of the UT-I has handed over them to the appropriate and competent state law enforcement agency for further course of action.
