NSCDRC president urges members to address consumer issues
WOKHA — Retired judge and president of Nagaland State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NSCDRC), Justice S Hukato Swu, on Thursday called upon the members to be ‘little more adventurous’ by addressing issues relating to consumers and file consumer cases in the districts in order to deliver justice to all section of people.
Justice Swu stated this during a short interaction held at the office of the Wokha District Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, which was attended by Nino Iralu, Wokha district session judge and president of Wokha District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, along with members of Wokha Bar Association and WDLSA panel lawyers namely Shanchobeni P Lotha, Renbonthung Tsanglao, Gracy Ezung and Meribemo A Lotha.
Meanwhile, Nino Iralu highlighted various issues in the district to which the Commission assured to address them accordingly.
M Abel Enny, president of Wokha Consumer Right Organisation, who also attended the interaction, highlighted various technical and financial aspects that hinder the normal functioning of NGOs in the district.
Justice Swu visited Wokha to oversee the functioning of the District Consumer Commissions as per the Supreme Court order and directives to visit all districts in Nagaland.
The first phase of the tour began from February 26 and culminated on February 29. The second phase tour would resume on March 5.
