Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides are seen engaged in social work along the Kohima War Cemetery on September 18.

Our Correspondent
Kohima, Sep. 19 (EMN):
Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) will be celebrating the ‘International Day of Peace’ on September 21 at Mezhür Higher Secondary School in Kohima on the theme "Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world."

Different activities are being taken up by members at various levels to celebrate the day in a befitting manner.

In a run-up to the event, the scouts and guides of Alpine Open Unit, Kohima, undertook a cleanup social work along the stretch of the War Cemetery on September 18, which is an adopted area of the NSBSG from the Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL).

Euphorbias were placed along the lower side of the flower ledges to give a new look and the area was cleaned. Members aim to contribute peace in the society by way of organising social works as well as beautifying the area.

Cleaning up community areas/ localities is one project called ‘Messengers of Peace’ (MoP) implemented by the World Organisation of Scout Movement, which is the international body of the scouts.
