Nsacs announces 2nd short film competition on HIV/AIDS

Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (Nsacs) today announced to organise the 2nd short film competition on HIV/AIDS #KnowledgeIsBliss for students of colleges and institutes in Nagaland. The last date for entry has been set on July 23.

The duration of the film should not be more than three minutes and could be either in Nagamese or English but English subtitles (EST) are mandatory for all entries. The cash prizes for winners are INR 50,000 for 1st prize, INR 30,000 for 2nd prize, INR 20,000 for 3rd prize and INR 10,000 each as consolation prizes to four participants.

The key objective of the short film competition was to use the power of audio visual medium blended with the creativity of young minds to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS as stated in the catalogue. It added that the competition was also to engage potential filmmakers at college level in both awareness generation and dissemination and also to promote right content among youth.

According to the terms and conditions for participants, it mentioned that the entry form and consent form are mandatory documents along with the short film. All entries for the competition are asked to submit through iecnagalandsacs@gmail.com. It added that an email stating that the entry has been received would be sent to every submission. In case the contributor does not get a revert mail, then they are requested to send the entry again.

It stated that the content of the short film should be associated with any of the thematic areas including stigma and discrimination, condom promotion, sexually transmitted infections treatment, importance of HIV testing, promotion of free anti-retro viral treatment, adherence to anti-retro viral treatment, HIV and youth, voluntary blood donation, HIV and AIDS (P&C) Act, 2017, using national toll free helpline 1097.

It informed that the selection of thematic areas of the films should be in context of #knowledgeIsBliss. The participants are to ensure that their profile is accurate and uploaded since NSACS would be using them for further communication, it stated.

Further, it stated that the short film must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. It informed that anyone found infringing on others’ copyright would be disqualified from the competition adding the organisers would not bear any responsibility for copyright violations.

It also stated that the selected entries would be uploaded on official social media platforms of Nsacs and also in the YouTube channel of Naco. It added that the experts on thematic areas, IEC division of Nsacs and film critic would comprise the panel of jury and evaluate the competitors.

It further asked the students to upload a copy of a valid institute or college or university ID card along with the entry form. All concerned are asked to visit its website nsacs.nagaland.gov.in for further information.
