Dimapur, March 19 (EMN): The Nagaland RMSA Teachers’ Association (NRMSATA) has iterated the demand for early release of their salary. The group issued a press release on Tuesday stating their contentions.
“The NRMSATA-16 despite serving numerous distinctive reminders to the various affiliated departments for the release of the pending five months salary has generated no positive responses till date making all the efforts go in vain,” the press release stated.

“The association’s request has been sidelined time and again proving us that the government only demands the absence of duties and services towards the public.”

The association referred to what it said was “the court’s direction” stated to have been given on January 29 which stated: “…..pendency of this writ petition shall not stand as bar for the respondents to consider releasing of the salary of the petitioners.” This directly orders the authority not to delay the salary of the teachers in the midst of the legal proceedings, the press release stated.

“The teachers although, are working diligently even at the midst of legal proceedings and patiently awaiting in the dark as to when their hard earned dues will be received. Without salary for more than five months, each passing day has become a challenge to meet even the most basic of needs.”

The association has requested the education authorities to ‘closely examine, consider and take immediate necessary actions so that the whole process of teaching and learning may not be further inconvenienced.’
