NRLM offers updates on progress of mission

The annual administrative report 2019-20 of the Rural Development department of Nagaland reports that the Deendayal Antyodya Yojana (Day) National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) has been remarkable for the year for the state’s NSRLM. The agency has been able to reach out to all the 74 Rural Development blocks of Nagaland during the financial year 2019-20 which started with nine blocks across nine districts, updates stated.

As part of the NSRLM livelihood-themed financial inclusion component, the report stated that 170 self help groups (SHG) have availed credit linkage amounting to INR 204.98 lakh during the first three quarters of the financial year 2019-20; 57 bank ‘Sakhi’ have been placed in 38 blocks and 48 bank branches to provide service to SHG members.


Among the identified 53 women SHG members, 26 have been trained for facilitating alternative banking model-business correspondent, Sakhi/customer service point (CSP) making financial services reach the doorsteps of the rural population in ‘unbanked’ and areas that had no coverage.
