NPP reorganises Mokokchung unit

Dimapur, Oct. 4 (EMN): In a major boost to the Nagaland unit of the National People’s Party (NPP), the party has inducted numerous renowned leaders of good public standing into the party folds for Mokokchung district unit during an induction programme held at Mokokchung town on October 3.

The programme was chaired by the newly inducted general secretary (Administration) of NPP Mokokchung district youth wing, Neil Verma, while the invocation was said by the Mokokchung district youth wing president Jonathan and the welcome address was delivered by the new general secretary (Administration) of NPP Mokokchung district, Matsungtula.

It was followed with the distribution of appointment letters to the newly inducted officials by the state president, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema.

On the occasion, speeches were delivered by the outgoing district president, I Bendang Jamir, and the newly appointed district president, Aongsen Aier. An update from the party stated that the outgoing president I Bendang Jamir was recently elevated as member of the state executive committee.

In his brief address, the new district president Aongsen expressed gratitude on his appointment and assured the gathering to do his best in upholding the party’s ideology and principles and work for the people of Mokokchung.

Also speaking on the occasion, the state general secretary in-charge of IPR and media, Tohovi Achumi, gave a brief outline on the history and significance of NPP as a national party with a difference. He laid emphasis on the party’s growing presence not only in the state of Nagaland but also throughout the entire North East including Sikkim and North Bengal.

NPP state president, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, has briefed the assembly about the consistent growth and optimal health of the party especially after the new team of NPP state executive took over in 2019. He also spoke in general about the induction of all ranks and files across all the districts to which he remarked that it was a challenging yet a remarkable achievement for the party within a span of only a few months.

The new team of NPP Mokokchung district would be led Aongsen Aier as district president, Takameren, a former BJP district youth president, as vice president, and Noklenmangyang, former district Congress youth president, as district youth vice president.

Meanwhile, the NPP state executive officials have expressed optimism that all ranks and files of Mokokchung district would work on war-footing and enrol more members to strengthen the party for the next general elections. The party also expressed hope that with the support of the public at all times, NPP’s vision and mission of ‘One voice, One Northeast’ would be fulfilled in letter and spirit and soon emerge as a new trendsetter in Nagaland politics.

NPP Nagaland State has incorporated the same slogan in Nagaland with a new tag line of ‘One Voice, One Nagaland’ in order to unify all the diverse tribes of the state, the report added.
