DIMAPUR — The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland state has extended congratulations to the leadership and members of both the Naga People’s Front (NPF) and the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) on their formal merger.
In his message, NPP state president A Nyamnyei Konyak conveyed his appreciation and optimism that with a stronger and unified position, the newly consolidated party will be able to pursue and realise its goals and commitments to the people of Nagaland, the party stated in a press release.
Konyak also congratulated Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on being elected unopposed as the leader of the NPF Legislature Party, expressing hope that his continued leadership will guide the merged entity toward stability and cohesive governance.

The party observed that the merger marks a new phase in Nagaland’s political landscape — one that reflects a consolidated, opposition-less government.
“Such a situation, it noted, carries both great opportunity and immense responsibility. The NPP Nagaland hopes that this unity in governance will translate into political stability, purposeful administration, and the fulfilment of promises made to the people,” the NPP Nagaland stated.
“While alliances and mergers remain a natural part of democratic evolution, the NPP reaffirms its belief that true political strength stems not merely from numbers, but from integrity, vision, and the enduring trust of the people.”
