NPP candidate lauds Mongsenyimti village’s decision

National People’s Party (NPP) candidate of 24 Angetyongpong AC, S Maongkaba Ozukum, has lauded the decision of Mongsenyimti village council to accept the directives issued by Gauhati High Court of Kohima bench.

“I am happy the village council of Mongsenyimti has accepted the Gauhati High Court, Kohima bench, directive to stand in the true electioneering process,” Ozukum stated during his declaration-cum-dedication programme in Mongsenyimti village on Wednesday.

It may be mentioned that as per the Guahati High Court Kohima order dated February 10, both Riosanger Putu Menden/ village council and Mongsenyimti Senso Mungdang appeared before the court of deputy commissioner of Mokokchung with written submission that they have accepted the verdict of the court and the same is being followed in letter and spirit.

Riosanger Putu Menden/ village council and Mongsenyimti Senso Mungdang have been directed by the Shashank Pratap Singh, DC and district magistrate of Mokokchung, to immediately refrain from open indulgence in politics by supporting or opposing any candidate failing which necessary action would be initiated as per law.

Further, they were directed that all efforts and endeavours must be made to ensure that a peaceful electioneering process is conducted in 24 Angetyongpang AC, particularly in Mongsenyimti, the order stated.

Ozukum, in his address, stated that he is contesting the election to uplift the 24 Angetyongpang AC so that the people in the area are put at the same level at par with the rest in the state.

He has assured to improve road connectivity and work for the uplift of womenfolk, widows, old age pension, youth, and impart skill training to the youth. In this regard, he has appealed to the electorates to come together as one to bring change to the constituency.

“Let us build a future by taking the first step to bring change. Let us take every step carefully so that next generation is not hampered by our missteps,” he appealed to the electorates.

Also speaking on the occasion, president of NPP Nagaland, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, appealed to the public to spread democratic culture. He also lauded the Mongsenyimti residents for upholding the clean election.

Sashimar, former candidate, and Imnameren, NPP state secretary of IPR and media also spoke at the event.
