Dimapur, Sep. 17 (EMN): Continuing its series of consultation with different Naga groups and organisations in relation to the Indo-Naga issue, the political affairs committee (PAM) of Naga People’s Front (NPF) convener, TR Zeliang, met with members of Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) in Dimapur on Thursday.

A press release from the PAM stated that the meeting was held to discuss the “way ahead for Naga solution, which the government of India intends to conclude by September”.

The CNTC, led by its president T Lanu Imchen, made its position clear that it will stand by the resolution of 14 apex Naga tribe hohos, adopted on August 11, that solution should be based on the ‘framework agreement’ and the ‘agreed position’ and the ‘last formal talks’ held on October 31, 2019, the press release informed.

“They also stressed on the need for unity for a common Naga accord which should be acceptable, honourable and inclusive,” it added.

Zeliang appreciated the stand of CNTC and told them that in the previous discussion held at Chümoukedima with apex organisations which the CNTC could not attend, all apex organisations had similar perspective and roadmap on.

“He was of the view that all tribal apex bodies should be in unison and work towards amalgamation of the various Naga political groups so that there is only one agreement and one solution,” the statement read.

Accordingly, the leader of opposition urged upon the CNTC to work in tandem with the other apex organisations in order to achieve the desire for a common platform.
