DIMAPUR, MAY 25: The NPF Central Youth Wing has asked Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio to come out clean and tell the NPF party and the Naga people that he was not involved in dividing the NPF into two camps and that he was not instrumental in destabilizing the present government.
“We are happy that Rio has stated openly in front of the Naga public at Dimapur airport that he will speak on the Naga issue both within and outside the parliament. This is the main agenda of the NPF and therefore he should continue to speak on the Naga issue without any hesitation so long as he remains MP. He should not be apprehensive because nobody is stopping him to speak on Naga issue.”
The youth wing said, Rio was reduced to minority in 2004 and it was Dr. Shurhozelie as the President of NPF, who rescued him. “It was because of the steadfastness of Dr, Shurhozelie and the NPF party functionaries that Rio’s leadership was rescued. As a matter of fact, the Cock Party remains as the strongest regional party in the Northeastern states of India because it always promotes and protects party’s interest more above an individual interest.”
The youth wing said, Rio should remember that the party had to remove K. Therie and Z.Obed from the party because they challenged his leadership when he was the CM of Nagaland.
“The NPF Party had to even resort to disqualifying some NPF MLA’s in order to save his chair. It is unfortunate that according to Rio’s logic, those who goes against his leadership when he was CM of Nagaland falls within the categories of anti party activities, and whereas, those MLA’s including himself who goes against the present party CM and the party President is not anti party activities.”
Further the youth wing mentioned, “Mr. Rio has stated in his address that showcase notice was served to him through local media which is absolutely false and totally misleading. It is clarify that DAC has served the showcase notice to him on the 14th of April 2016. Which means that the local newspaper covered only after 3 days,”.

Eastern Mirror clarifies: On the 15th of April Eastern Mirror received an email of regarding the show cause notice served to the MP. On a telephonic conversation with the MP the same evening he replied that he had received one dated 4th April 2006 and that he had replied to it the same day the 15th of April. And the same was reported in the paper. It was only the next day, the 16th of April that Eastern Mirror learnt the second show cause notice was different to the one that was served earlier.
