NPF youth snub NPCC threat
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 16
The NPF central youth wing has reacted to the NPCC statement for boycotting the golden jubilee celebration of Nagaland’s statehood.
A press release by its member secretary media cell, Janbemo Humtsoe, said that “we, the most fortunate Nagas are prayerfully waiting to rewind and celebrate the auspicious day and the year of December 1, 1963 cutting across political parties, region, tribes, factions and religious denominations and not the year 2013.”In this context, he queried as to whose golden jubilee the NPCC is boycotting. “Is that the NPCC is really an outsider?” The celebration is neither that of the NPF-led DAN government headed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. Rather, the celebration would be that of the past, present and for the future Nagaland.
The NPF youth wing expressed regret that “when all the Nagas along with non-Naga friends are praying to Almighty God in one accord to commemorate 50 years of statehood, we are so unfortunate to see the NPCC stand on divisive mind and thoughts to assassinate the paragon image of our brave elders who laid the foundation of the present beautiful Nagaland.”
The youth wing fervently appealed to fellow Nagas “not to be traumatized by baffling statement” of NPCC but to come forward and contribute freely towards the golden jubilee celebration. And thus open a new chapter of blessing for better Nagaland.
