NPF serves show cause notice to MP Neiphiu Rio

Naga People’s Front (NPF) in a statement said its Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) has served show cause notice to Neiphiu Rio after it had “received numerous complaints from various corners”.
According to NPF, the DAC “carefully examined” the complaints and found that Neiphiu Rio “had involved in anti party activism, orchestrated and harboured dissident” movement within NPF party, camped at his ‘private forts’. The NPF press note also alleged that instrumental in lodging complaints before judicial magistrate against the Chief Minister, violated party constitutional provision by abstaining from party meeting four consecutive times and “heinously Mr. Rio has been initiating every steps to topple the present government and campaigning maliciously against the party president recently even after party reconciliation”.
“The DAC thoroughly examined various activities of Mr. N. Rio confirmed beyond doubt that he have been indulging in anti party activites, hence served show cause notice as to why disciplanary action should not be initiated against him. The show cause must be reply in written within 15 days from the date of issue of notice served In conformity with party constitution with Article XIV Section 1(C) and Section 2(B)”, the press note of the NPF claimed.
The NPF press note then said, “Neiphiu Rio has relinquished the Chief Minister’s post on his own volition to contest for the lone Lok Sabha seat inspite of party workers and elected representatives pleaded to reconsider his decision from leaving the state politics”. According to it, Rio promised to work whole heartedly for early solution of Naga political issue, take up various developmental activities for the state. “However, he has deviated from his commitment and concentrating his attention, devoting time, energy giving false hope and commitment to many if they support his mission for change of leadership in the present state government,” it added.
Meanwhile, Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu had replied to the show cause notice of the party on April 14, according to sources.
