With reference to an advertisement headlined “Political Stand” which was published in local dailies February 1, NPF Phek Division president Chivotso Nienu is a release today clarified that it was issued by Vehuta Rakho and Cusayi Lohe ‘claiming’ to be the President and Gen Secy respectively of NPF Phek NPF Division and that they extended their unflinching support to the leadership of Noke Wangnao and G. Kaito Aye.“They may personally support whosoever they please but incursion into my domain as speaking on behalf of NPF Phek Division is the height of falsehood. For, the undersigned is the four times elected President of NPF Phek Division. My fourth term was duly approved in the NPF Phek Division General Meeting at Pfutsero on 07 November, 2014. It was further approved and oath taken during NPF General Convention at IG Stadium, Kohima on 26 November, 2014.” Whatever the two imposters may claim, the NPF Party headed by Dr Shurhozelie along with the “Cock” symbol is still the political entity officially recognized by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The statemet said adding, until and unless it is officially de-recognized by the ECI, the dissidents headed by Noke Wangnao and G. Kaito Aye duo have no official sanction no matter what they claim.
“Phek District is primarily a regional party bastion and NPF Phek Division which I am privileged to lead as President, had always been steadfast in our resolutions and commitments till date.”
“If the NPF party headed by President Dr Shurhozelie happens to be officially de-recognized by the ECI, then I will also gracefully step down. Till such time, the impersonators and whatever supporters they claim are hereby cautioned not to be in haste for whatever goals they aim since this would be like chasing the wind or a mirage.”
