NPF Phek demands dismissal of TR Zeliang govt

Dimapur, August 10 (EMN): The NPF Phek Division while sondemning the ‘illegal government,’ headed by TR Zeliang, urged the Central Government to immediately dismiss his Government so as to uphold the sanctity of the constitution of India. The division also condemned the ‘arbitrary’ and ‘partisan’ action of State Governor, P.B Acharya and urged the President of India to immediately recall him. In a press statement jointly appended by the division president, Chivotso Nienu and general secretary, Wepe Mekrisuh, stated that the NPF Phek division office bearers along with the frontal organisations -Women Wing, Farmers Wing and Youth Wing held an emergency meeting on August 10 at MLA Chotisuh Sazo’s residence and endorsed Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu as the one and only duly elected president of the Naga Peoples Front (NPF) for the tenure 2015-2020. The division also declared that they shall remain loyal to the NPF under the presidentship of Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu. “The NPF Phek Division condemned and discarded Neiphiu Rio as the Interim President of NPF. May it be made known loud and clear that he is already a suspended member from the Party and leave alone being the Interim President, he cannot even become an office bearer in the Party” the press release stated. During the meeting, the house congratulated Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu for winning the 10th Northern Angami Constituency by-election. His winning with a huge margin conveys the message of hope to the Naga people, it added. The division further lauded the electorates of the constituency for remaining loyal to the party despite inimical forces at work.
