NPF Mokokchung draws govt.’s attention on border issue
Dimapur, July 14 (EMN): Perturbed by the fragile border dispute with neighbouring Assam state, Mokokchung division of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has drawn the attention of the ruling state government to take up the matter at the highest level at the earliest before the situation escalate beyond control.
A NPF Mokokchung’s statement through its media cell claimed that Naga villagers living in the border areas are experiencing sleepless nights due to the presence of Assam police in their lands and the youth are highly agitated. While questioning who would be held responsible in the event of any untoward incident, the division has demanded that the state government to take up the matter at the highest level at the earliest.
Mentioning that Assam government, in its maiden assembly session, had discussed and decided to set up police battalion camps at strategic Assam-Nagaland boundary, it asked the government of the day on how it would react to the development or remain a silent spectator.
