Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): In yet another setback to the opposition, Naga People’s Front (NPF), functionaries of its Wokha division led by (former) president Monthang Patton have joined the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).
A statement from the NDPP on Monday welcomed the former president and all office bearers who had resigned from primary and active membership of the NPF, on November 9, to support the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NDPP president Chingwang Konyak.
“The decision of these leaders from Wokha district to join the NDPP will greatly benefit and strengthen the party and at the same time also reveals the people’s belief in the NDPP and the dynamic leadership of Neiphiu Rio and Chingwang Konyak. With their joining the NDPP fold, we are confident of taking the party forward in Wokha district and Nagaland to greater heights in the days to come,” it stated.
