Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): In view of the alarming second wave of Covid-19 pandemic in the country and increase in new cases in the state, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Friday directed all its functionaries in the states of Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh not to let complacency creep into their effort of staying safe from the virus.
Terming it as a trying time, the party issued a press release informing its functionaries that the second wave is “more virulent” and they were “expected to show exemplary attitude to protect self and others by following standard safety precautions”.
The functionaries have also been asked not to exhibiting any form of stigmatisation on people undergoing quarantine and Covid patients and their families.
“They are also expected to give full co-operation to their respective administration and district task forces remembering that leaders lead by showing the way,” read the press release issued by Dr. Chumben Murry, legislator in-charge of medical cell.
The general public has also been urged to “religiously observe precautionary measures and SOP for various settings as notified by the respective governments from time to time”.
It also urged all community-based organisations, faith-based organisations and tribal bodies to play proactive role in Covid-19 prevention.
