Naga People’s Front mourns the passing away of Shumo Aponza

DIMAPUR — The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has condoled the demise Shumo Aponza, wife of former MLA Late Viyekha Aponza, who passed away on Friday at D’ Block in Kohima.
In a condolence message, MLA and NPF secretary general Achumbemo Kikon, stated that Late Viyekha Aponza was the first legislator from the Rengma community in 1964 elected on the ticket of the Democratic Party of Nagaland, the forerunner of the NPF. Kikon added that in those formative years, Shumo Aponza stood beside him with quiet grace and steadfast devotion — a source of strength that sustained his public service.

“Her life reflected humility, dignity and an unwavering commitment to family, community, and faith,” Kikon said adding she shouldered family responsibilities with silent fortitude and instilled values of integrity and compassion in her children and grandchildren.
On behalf of the NPF rank and file, he has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and her loved ones and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
