‘NPF CEC meet to be convened by Shurhozelie illegal’
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 9
The Noke led The NPF terms convening of NPF CEC meeting by Dr Shurhozelie as ‘illegal and unconstitutional’ as he is ‘no longer’ the president of NPF.In a statement, the Noke led NPF said it is issuing this statement to clarify the actual status of Dr. Shurhozelie Liezeitsu and the meeting notification issued by him on February 8, 2015, wherein he had directed all the members of the NPF Central Executive Council (C.E.C) to attend a meeting on February 10, 2015 at 11 am in the conference Hall of the NPF Central HQs Kohima. “The truth of the matter is since the Election Commission of India had already derecognised Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu as NPF president through its directive issued on February 4, 2015, he is no more the president of NPF and therefore the NPF C.E.C meeting convened by him is illegal and unconstitutional,” the Noke led NPF said.
It then said the power exercised by Dr. Shurhozelie clearly undermines the mandate of the ECI and “we can safely conclude that he had over ride the constitution of India”. The action of Dr. Shurhozelie poses a direct challenge to the foundation of Democracy in the country and the arrogances of Shurhozelie will ignite a wrong precedence which will ultimately defeat the idea of India, it caitioned.
